Hi Jay,

I see the platform you have posted talks about job creation, protecting middle class, prepare children educationally and honor veterans. I would like to know where you stand on the below 8 issues? Thank you.

1- women's right to choose or pro-life, anti abortion.
2- Privatization of retirement funds or
increase social security taxable income?
3- Promote family Christian values or keep separation of State and Church?
4- Medicare for all/promote Obama's health care agenda or privatization/vouchers and tax credits so all can shop for their own health care?
5- Accept corporations as individuals for campaign donations or political campaigns should all be publically funded and acknowledged as such?
6-Disband lobbyists or allow corporate lobbyists to defend their positions?
7- Defend gay rights or not?
8- Ban big oil tax breaks or promote and support more drilling?

[...] Demand an apology. Write a letter to a newspaper, to the creeper himself, to his campaign staff (who’re also to blame but who shall remain nameless), and to those who donate to his campaign who enable him. If you’re loathe to write something from scratch then sigh a petition online. You can’t get lazier than that. Can you? [...]

Hi Calvin,

Thanks for the message and I appreciate that you are sharing your concerns. The Confucius Classroom program focus is not Confucianism, it is the teaching of Chinese language and culture. Confucius is simply the name given to the class, for familiarity reasons. Learning about Confucius as a historical figure is already included in classroom curriculum. Please rest assured that nothing akin to the Confucianism you are describing is being advocated in the classroom.

Thanks,

Jay

Dear Jay,
I am a Taiwanese American who graduated from Huntington Park High School (1984) and UCLA (1989), I have high respects for all my teachers and professors. I am glad see you, a young Taiwanese American, serving our small but lovely community of Hacienda Heights. I must, however, tell you my view of Confucianism. Confucianism is used as a tool by the past feudal kings and emperors to govern the people by advocating class system, fooling loyalty to the emperor/ie state. As a result you will have a population that is easily controllable. Any deviation from the "norm" is treated as outcasts. Confucius is also a sexist by commenting badly about women. With Confucianism, you cannot question your father, superior, emperor. Any such act, no matter how substantiated, is considered treason, punishable by death. If you have been innocent of the true intent of Confucianism and those advocating it, hope you are aware now. Look up Lu Xun, his reason for why China is sick and the "hinted" prescription for cure. I strongly oppose the Confucius Classrooms. I welcome your comment.
